On the spur of the moment, my hubbie agreed to see Bride Wars with me…he only went because Anne Hathaway was in the movie, co-starring with Kate Hudson. Being in the wedding industry for over 20 years… it’s kind of a “must do” ritual to see all the wedding movies out there. Boy, that makes me sound sooo old…but I’m really not! I really wanted to see it because it was filmed in the streets of NYC (where we had our store for 2 years) and I have a soft spot for anything about NYC.

WARNING: DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE JUICY DETAILS OF THE MOVIE!
I was tickled pink to see the opening scene with a child’s treasure box written with blue felt marker “WEDDING THINGS” filled with all kinds of dreams, hopes and paraphenalia for her future wedding.
I thought it was very gutsy of both gals, Liv and Emma to try to take the magical date of June 6 for themselves…even going so far as ordering Save the Date cards.
For most New Yorkers who love Chinese take out, proposing with a fortune cookie is a very sweet way to “pop the question”.
I’d say this is a fun movie to see if you love weddings (like me) or if you are getting married yourself! Take all your bridesmaids and make it a girl’s night out.
So my hubbie concludes by saying that “It is definitely a girl’s movie, but Anne Hathaway was hot in the dancing scene.”
